Product Details
If your 2012–2015 Tesla Model S has developed loose steering,
excessive body roll during turns, or clunking noises from the front
suspension—these are clear signs the front stabilizer bar split
bushing is worn or damaged. This CFN front stabilizer bar split
bushing (matching OEM part 1188487-00-D) is the precision
replacement to restore suspension stability and driving comfort. As
an engineered alternative (non-Tesla OEM), it replicates the
original bushing’s size, material density, and split design,
ensuring seamless fit with the 2012–2015 Model S’s front stabilizer
bar and suspension mounts while upholding Tesla’s handling
standards.
- Mirrors the OEM bushing’s inner diameter (to match the front
stabilizer bar) and outer contour (to fit suspension brackets)—no
trimming or modification needed.
- Split design allows easy installation without removing the entire
stabilizer bar (saves hours of labor vs. non-split generic
bushings), aligning perfectly with the Model S’s front suspension
layout.
- Compound: High-density EPDM rubber (same as OEM) with a reinforced inner
lip—resists wear from constant stabilizer bar movement, and stands
up to road salt, oil, and extreme temperatures (-40°C to 100°C).
- Flexibility & Rigidity Balance: Maintains enough flexibility to absorb vibration (reducing road
noise in the cabin) while staying rigid enough to prevent
stabilizer bar “play”—critical for tight steering and minimal body
roll.
- The stabilizer bar (anti-roll bar) relies on this bushing to stay
anchored: a worn bushing lets the bar shift, causing imprecise
steering and increased body roll (especially during highway turns
or lane changes).
- Fixes common issues like front-end clunking over bumps, “loose”
steering feel, or uneven weight distribution during braking—brings
back the 2012–2015 Model S’s original smooth, controlled ride.
- Safety Prep: Lift the vehicle and secure it on jack stands (never rely on a
jack alone). Remove the front wheels to access the front
suspension.
- Locate the Bushing: Find the front stabilizer bar (runs across the front frame); the
split bushing is clamped to the bar and mounted on a suspension
bracket.
- Remove Old Bushing: Loosen the bracket’s clamp bolts (use a socket wrench) and slide
out the worn bushing—clean the stabilizer bar and bracket to remove
dirt or old rubber residue.
- Install CFN Bushing: Open the split bushing and wrap it around the stabilizer bar
(align the inner lip with the bar’s groove), then reposition the
bracket over the bushing. Tighten the clamp bolts to 18 N·m (per
Tesla specs) to secure the bushing.
- Test: Reinstall the front wheels, lower the vehicle, and take a short
test drive—check for reduced body roll, no clunking noises, and
tighter steering response.
⚠️ Only for 2012–2015 Tesla Model S. Will NOT fit 2016+ Model S (revised stabilizer bar diameter and
bushing design) or other Tesla models (Model 3/X/Y use incompatible
bushing sizes).
- Split design cuts installation time: no need to disassemble the
entire front suspension (DIY-friendly for home mechanics).
- OEM-grade EPDM rubber ensures long life—avoids frequent
replacements from premature wear.
- Restores the Model S’s signature smooth handling, making highway
drives and turns safer and more comfortable.
