Aging Treatments
When extruded profiles need to enhance their mechanical properties,
the 6000 series alloys must be aged. How much the mechanical
properties can be enhanced depends on the type of alloy and the
conditions of the aging process, which range from natural aging at
room temperature to various higher temperature heat treatments
known as artificial aging.
As far as the strength of 6000 series alloys is concerned, the
direct correlation is that the material is deformed in the process,
for the internal particles to move the impedance of the ability to
move, when the material is given to the stress of the particles
will begin to dislocate and move, and when the stress increases
again and again, the number of such particles to move will be
increased and intensely enhanced, and until the material is damaged

Mechanical Properties
Mechanical property requirements also impose some constraints on
the extrusion process.It is defined by the extrusion speed and the

purpose of increasing the extrusion speed and preform temperature
is to provide more heat energy to induce greater melting of the
magnesium silicide in the preform.
