Lycoming IO-580 Series Have A Cylinder Volume Of 580 Cubic Inches And Features Six Cylinders

This series of engines has a cylinder volume of 580 cubic inches and features six cylinders, direct drive, horizontal opposition, and air cooling. Power ranges from 300 to 315 horsepower. This series of engines has a fuel injection system that measures fuel in proportion to the air flow into the cylinder. The range of engines produces a maximum power of 315 HP at 2700 RPM.

Up to now, there are three models of Lycoming IO-580 series engines issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), of which the IO-580-A1A was certified on August 12, 1997, and the IO-580-B1A was certified on March 23, 2001. The evidence of AEIO-580-B1A was obtained on August 13, 2007, and the type certificate number of the above three models is E-00004NY.
