Of course, another reason is that the silicon carbide rod was not properly matched during use, which can quickly shorten its service life. The latter reason is also a common occurrence, which is that under high temperature conditions, the O2, CO2, and water vapor in the air can strongly promote the oxidation of carbon nanotubes, generating a glassy SiO2 film. The resistivity of SiO2 is higher than that of SiC, which increases the resistance. Because of this layer of SiO2, the thin film can protect the inner layer of Sic from further oxidation, so after continuous use for a certain period of time, the increase in resistance will slow down.
