What is the Difference between Amphibious Excavator and Common
Hydraulic Excavator?
The undercarriage of amphibious excavator was modified and replaced
with a pontoon which can provide certain buoyancy so that
excavators can work in the swamp, silt or other water enviroments.
Application of Amphibious Excavators:
Amphibious excavators can be used on land, in shallow water,
marshes, and deep water areas as well as on ponds, rivers, lakes,
coastlines and other complex contruction terrain. Our amphibious
excavators have been tested in practice for many years and are
widely favored by end users. The pontoon undercarriage can be
customized to suit 5-40 tons of various types of excavators,
depending on your working conditions and needs.
Advantages of Our Undercarriage Pontoon for Amphibious Digger:
1. Lightweight design instead of big pontoons: the pontoon's buoyancy is less than the total weight, so even if
the excavator touches the riverbed, it still can work normally. On
the other hand, lightweight excavators are more adaptable to
shallow water areas such as silt and swamps design. The material
strength increases while allowing the weight of the excavator to be
reduced. By doing so, we will increase walking speed, reduce fuel
consumption, and improve construction speed, reduce fuel
consumption, and improve the speed of project. 2. Chain plate is made by high strength HG785 to increase wear resistance & impact resistance. 3. Track chain is made by high-strength & heat-treated steel
40Cr.
How to Choose a Suitable Amphibious Excavator?
1. Upper structure of excavator: choose one excavator according to
your project first then we will make suitable pontoon for your
machine.
2. Depth of water: make sure how many meters the water will be in
your working area. If the water is less than 1.5m, then main
pontoon is enough to make the machine foat on water surface. While
if the water is more than 2-5 meters then side pontoon is needed
because water depth exceeds the height of main pontoon.
3. Positioning piles are optional. If working in smooth water and
no need for frequent digging then no need to add spuds. However,
hydraulic spuds are suitable for frequent-moving working condition
through hydraulic power which is operated in cabin.
In deep water areas, the design of the main pontoon and side
pontoon makes the excavator more stable and not easy to roll over.
At the same time, the relatively long reach arm, the wider oprating
radius, and the standard arm can also make the machine to work
normally.

How to Ship Amphibious Excavator?
1. Dismantle the upper structure of the excavator then load into
1x40ft flat rack with side pontoon.
2. Dismantle the undercarriage pontoon into 2 parts then load into
2x40ft containers seperately.
3. Loading arm, boom and bucket of Amphibious Excavator into
another 40ft container.
