Painting system on peb steel structure surface:
There are two principal methods for providing corrosion protection to steel structures: anti-rust painting and hot-dip galvanization.
Anti-rust painting involves applying a multi-layer coating system to the steel surface. This method creates a physical barrier that prevents corrosive elements like moisture and oxygen from reaching the metal. A typical system involves:
Surface Preparation: This is crucial and often involves abrasive blast cleaning (sandblasting) to remove mill scale, rust, and contaminants, creating a clean, roughened surface for optimal paint adhesion.
Primer Coat: The first layer applied is usually a primer that contains corrosion-inhibiting pigments, such as zinc phosphate or zinc-rich compounds. The primer is key to the system's anti-rust performance.
Intermediate/Tie Coats: One or more intermediate coats are applied to build up the film thickness, providing additional barrier protection and improving the bond between the primer and the topcoat.
Topcoat/Finish Coat: This final coat provides the required color, UV resistance, and resistance to environmental factors and chemicals. Common paint types used include epoxies, polyurethanes, and alkyds.
Painting offers flexibility in color and finish and is suitable for on-site application and repair, though its long-term performance is heavily dependent on the quality of the surface preparation and application.
Hot-dip galvanization is a process that provides a much more robust and long-lasting form of corrosion protection. The process involves:
Preparation: The steel component is chemically cleaned using a degreasing bath, followed by an acid pickling bath to remove rust and scale. It is then fluxed to prepare the surface for bonding.
Dipping: The clean steel is completely submerged in a bath of molten zinc (heated to approximately 450∘C or 840∘F).
Metallurgical Bonding: While submerged, the iron in the steel metallurgically reacts with the molten zinc to form a series of highly durable zinc-iron alloy layers, followed by a pure zinc layer on the surface.
The key advantage of HDG is its dual protection mechanism: it acts as a tough physical barrier, and critically, if the coating is scratched, the zinc provides cathodic protection (or sacrificial protection) to the underlying steel, meaning the zinc will corrode first, sparing the steel from rust. This process provides complete coverage, even in complex shapes and recessed areas, leading to service lives that can exceed 50 years in many environments with minimal maintenance.

1) 30% advance payment before producing by T/T, and 70% balance by
T/T before shipping.
