Shore 70A) is suitable for supporting heavy loads but has poor
shock absorption performance; low-hardness rubber (around Shore
40A) excels at absorbing high-frequency vibrations. The loss factor
(tanδ) measures the efficiency of rubber converting energy into
heat during vibration. High tanδ values provide better shock
absorption across a wide frequency range but may lead to decreased
static stiffness. Therefore, modern vibration isolators often adopt
dual-hardness or gradient-hardness designs, such as outer hard
rubber wrapping inner soft rubber, to balance support and shock
absorption capabilities.
