Industrial Sewage Online Ammonia nitrogen Water Quality Analyzer
>>Overview
Ammonia nitrogen in water refers to ammonia existing in its free form, primarily originating from the decomposition of nitrogenous organic matter in domestic wastewater by microbial activity, industrial effluents such as coking and synthetic ammonia production, and agricultural drainage. Elevated ammonia nitrogen levels in water bodies pose toxic effects on aquatic life and varying degrees of harm to humans. Measuring ammonia nitrogen concentrations aids in assessing water pollution levels and "self-purification" status, making it a critical indicator of water quality contamination.
This analyzer is designed for long-term unattended and automatic continuous operation based on field configurations. It is widely applicable to scenarios including industrial wastewater discharge, municipal sewage treatment plant effluent, and environmental quality surface water monitoring. Depending on the complexity of on-site conditions, optional preprocessing systems can be integrated to ensure reliable testing processes, accurate results, and full compliance with diverse on-site requirements.
>>Principle
The analyzer employs the salicylate colorimetric method. After mixing the water sample with a masking agent, ammonia
nitrogen (existing as free ammonia or ammonium ions) reacts with
salicylate ions and hypochlorite ions under alkaline conditions in
the presence of a sensitizing agent, forming a colored complex. The
analyzer detects this chromatic change, converts it into an ammonia
nitrogen concentration value, and outputs the result. The amount of colored complex formed corresponds to the ammonia
nitrogen concentration.
