ZF-BP Series Water Cooled High Voltage Variable Frequency Drive
Water cooled high-voltage frequency converter is a power regulation
device used to control high-power motors, designed specifically to
meet high-capacity and high reliability application scenarios. Its
core advantage lies in the use of water-cooled cooling technology
to effectively solve the heat dissipation problem of high-power
frequency converters during operation. At the same time, it has the
characteristics of high efficiency, energy saving, high
reliability, and low noise, and is widely used in industrial fields

Technical Principles and Structural Characteristics
- Working principle: The water-cooled high-voltage inverter is based
on IGBT power unit series multilevel technology. Through vector
control and SPWM control technology, it converts fixed frequency
and voltage AC power into adjustable frequency and voltage
electrical energy, achieving precise speed regulation of
high-voltage motors. The core cooling system adopts water cooling
method, which efficiently exports the heat generated by power
devices through circulating cooling medium (such as pure water and
antifreeze) to ensure stable operation of the equipment.
- Structural composition
1. Power unit cabinet: includes power units (including HV-IGBT),
current sensors, water cooling pipelines, etc. It achieves variable
frequency speed regulation and unit automatic bypass function by
controlling HV-IGBT.
2. Water cooling system: including main circulation pump, filter,
circulation pipeline, air radiator, etc. The cooling medium flows
through the power unit driven by the circulation pump, transferring
heat to the radiator and dissipating it.
3. Control circuit: Real time monitoring of input/output voltage,
current and other parameters, generating PWM control signals to
drive IGBT switching devices, ensuring that the output waveform is
close to the ideal sine wave.
Application advantages
- Efficient and energy-saving: By adjusting the motor speed to
achieve load matching and reduce energy consumption. For example,
the flow rate of loads such as fans and pumps is proportional to
the speed, the pressure is proportional to the second power of the
speed, and the power is proportional to the third power of the
speed. When the air volume decreases by 20%, the fan shaft power
decreases by 49%; When the air volume decreases by 50%, the shaft
power decreases by 87.5%, and the energy-saving effect is
significant.
- High reliability: The water-cooled cooling method effectively
reduces the temperature of power devices and extends the lifespan
of equipment. For example, the new wind and solar water-cooled
high-power high-voltage inverter adopts a high reliability design,
which has the characteristics of low noise, high efficiency, and

- Large capacity support: Water cooling technology solves the heat
dissipation problem of large capacity frequency converters and is
suitable for large compressor systems above 10MW level. For
example, Yongqing Station on the China Russia East Line uses 2 sets
of 10kV/20MVA water-cooled high-voltage frequency converters, while
Heihe Station on the natural gas pipeline uses 4 sets of 10kV/23MVA
water-cooled frequency converters.
- Strong environmental adaptability: The water cooling system is
insensitive to environmental temperature and humidity, and is
suitable for harsh working conditions such as high temperature and
high dust. For example, in the application of high-temperature fans
at the kiln tail of cement clinker production lines, high-voltage
frequency converters that can transmit electricity can adjust the
motor speed on time.
Technological development trends
- Power density improvement: By using IGBT devices with higher
voltage levels (such as 3300V IGBT), the number of power units is
reduced, the main circuit structure is simplified, and the system
reliability is improved.
