Scope of application of NF P 92-505 Thermal Radiation Dripping Test Apparatus:
- NF P 92-505 is applicable to hot-melt materials in the construction
field, especially materials involving fire safety requirements,
such as:
- Plastic materials (such as polyethylene, polypropylene, etc.)
- Textiles
- Composite materials
- Other materials that may melt and drip
Introduction:
The melting materials dripping test machine is developed according
to the French building materials and railway vehicle flame
retardant test standard NF P 92-505, and meets the requirements of
the European Union 95/28/EC automotive interior materials fire test
standards. The principle of the test is that the sample is
subjected to 30 KW/m2 heat radiation by the upper radiant heat source, which may cause
the combustion of the released gas to observe whether the sample
will produce droplets and cause the burning of the fiber cotton. It
is suitable for the melting and dripping of hot melt materials
under the action of the main heat sources and the burning
performance test.

radiation device, eliminating frequent calibration procedures.
- The power controller controls the radiation output and adjusts the
radiant flux of the heat radiation device.
- Equipped with a sample and cotton tray, height adjustable, and easy
to evacuate the radiation source.
NF P 92-505 Thermal Radiation Dripping Test Apparatus' Principle:
This test simulates the behavior of materials under high
temperature, with special attention paid to:
- Whether there are molten droplets falling
- Whether the molten droplets burn
- Whether the fiber cotton (used as a collector) is ignited
- The burning time and duration of the test piece
