ISO 6941 Textile Vertical Flame Tester is used to evaluate the flame propagation performance of textiles in vertical orientation. It is applicable to a variety of textiles and industrial products, such as clothing, curtains, tents, toys, etc. Its test method strictly follows the ISO 6941:2003 standard, and ensures that the product meets safety requirements by measuring the flame propagation time and observing the burning behavior. The test results provide key data for textile manufacturers, testing institutions and scientific research units for quality control, R&D and regulatory compliance certification.

Test product content

The test is applicable to the following types of products:

Single or multi-component textiles: including textiles with coatings, quilting, multi-layer, sandwich combinations, such as clothing fabrics, decorative fabrics, tent fabrics, etc.
Textiles for specific purposes:
Clothing: such as children's clothing, protective clothing (such as in accordance with ISO 15025).
Curtains and draperies: test their flame propagation performance in accordance with EN 1101, EN 1102, EN 13772, etc.
Tents and large coverings: such as camping tents (ISO 5912).
Toys and toy materials: such as stuffing or fabrics for plush toys (EN 71-2).
Safety nets: such as nets for construction or industry.
Household textiles: such as sheets, blankets (ASTM D4151, ASTM F1955).
Other industrial products: such as multi-layer composite materials, textiles with fur on the surface (such as pile, loop, tufted, etc.), used to determine the surface burning time (ISO 10047)

Main performance parameters:

1 Dimensions of the test chamber: 760mm wide × 650mm deep × 1300mm high;
2 Support frame: fixed sample frame
3 Sample frame: composed of a rectangular metal frame, 12 sample fixing pins are installed along the long side of the rectangular frame with a length of 560mm and a width of 150mm. The distances between the sample fixing pins and the bottom edge are 5mm, 10mm, 190mm, 370mm, 550mm and 555mm respectively, and the length of the fixing pins is at least 26mm.
4 Template: used for sampling and sample punching.
5 Timing device: timing at three marking lines respectively, and the timing stops automatically when each marking line burns out.
6 Combustion gas source: industrial propane (prepared by the user)
7 Sample: L560mm*W170mm, 3 pieces each in the warp and weft directions
8 Combustion torch:

8.2 Composition: It consists of four parts, air pipe, gas mixing area, diffusion area, and gas outlet;
8.3 The nozzle diameter is φ0.19mm;
8.4 Flame stabilizer: The center aperture is 1.7mm, and there are eight diffusion holes around it, with an aperture of 0.9mm;
8.5 Flame height: It can be adjusted within 10mm~60mm;
9 Ignition timer: 99.99h/min/s can be set arbitrarily, resolution: 0 .01s/min/h, accuracy: 0.1s
10 Delay timer (T1 time, T2 time, T3 time): 99.99h/min/s arbitrarily set, resolution: 0.01s/min/h, accuracy: 0.1s
11 Angle between igniter axis and sample surface: 0°/30°/90° switchable;
12 Combustion mode: surface ignition and bottom edge ignition;
13 Ignition system: high-voltage electronic automatic ignition;
14 Ignition: automatic movement and manual angle conversion;
