COBB Surface Water Absorbent Tester Absorbency Test Meter for Paper and Cardboard
1. Introduction
Water Absorption Meter is designed according to the basic
parameters and requirements specified in GB/T1540-2002 “Method for
Determining the Water Absorption of Paper and Cardboard”. This
standard is applicable to the determination of water absorption on
the surface of various kinds of paper or cardboard, but is not
suitable for accurately assessing the writing performance of paper
or cardboard.
Cobb: The amount of water absorbed by a unit area of paper and
cardboard under a certain pressure and temperature for a specified
period of time, measured in grams per square meter.
Specific formula is as follows: C = (G2 - g1) × 100. which: paper
and cardboard absorbency tester is used for paper and cardboard
surface absorbency testing of conventional instruments, also known
as the paper surface absorbency weight tester, the instrument in a
variety of absorbency test methods used in the Cobb test method, so
it is also known as the water absorption rate tester.
2. Parameter
1. The internal sectional area of the metal cylinder is 100±0.2
(corresponding internal diameter is 112.8±0.2mm), and the products
with stand should be 50mm. The products with the products in
contact with the samples shall be smooth.
2. The fixed quantity of absorbent paper is 200 ~ 250g/square meter, and its absorption speed is 75mm/10min.When the quantity of
absorbent single layer is less than 200 ~ 250 g/square meter, it can be satisfied with multiple layers.
3. Smooth metal flat roller: the length of the roller is 200±0.5mm
and the mass is 10±0.5kg.
4. Water consumption: 100mm±5ml.
5. Dimensions and Weight: Dimensions: 480 * 400 * 420 (mm)
