It operates completely autonomously with four 7W monocrystalline solar panels and a high-capacity LiFePO₄ battery rated for over 15 years of service life. The lantern automatically turns on at dusk and off at dawn, and can run for up to 200 hours continuously on a full charge.

Equipped with a professional-grade acrylic optical lens, the DX-ML550 delivers high-efficiency light output in Red, Green, Yellow, White, or Blue, all in full compliance with IALA standards.
