TP321 Material Properties
TP321 features titanium stabilization to effectively prevent
intergranular corrosion, making it ideal for high-temperature
cyclic applications above 450 °C. With oxidation resistance up to
950 °C, it maintains excellent weldability and medium-to-high
pressure strength – delivering a reliable solution for
high-temperature steam lines in power generation.
SMLSCO Product Advantages
SMLSCO stocks 2,000 tons of seamless pipes, including full-range
TP321 thick-walled options. Standard sizes ship within two weeks.
Bulk raw material sourcing reduces costs, while ISO+PED compliance
with 100% factory testing and photo documentation helps
distributors shorten procurement cycles and minimize inspection
risks.
TP321 Seamless Pipe Manufacturing Process
TP321 pipe undergoes a 7-stage process:
Piercing →
Multi-pass cold drawing →
Solution annealing →
Pickling & passivation →
Straightening →
Eddy current testing →
Final inspection
Computer-controlled annealing ensures optimal titanium stabilization. Pickling removes scale while passivation enhances surface cleanliness – meeting stringent requirements for high-temperature steam systems.
Quality Control System
Implementing:
• Raw material PMI verification
• In-process EC/UT non-destructive testing
• 100% dimensional inspection
All test records and photos are traceable with available SGS/TUV
sampling reports. Our three-tier QC system guarantees consistent
composition and stable performance across every TP321 batch,
streamlining distributors' incoming inspection.
TP321 Seamless Pipe Application in Power Generation
TP321 seamless pipes perform well in power plant systems because
the stability of titanium can prevent intergranular corrosion in
steam pipelines at 450-800 ° C. The oxidation resistance at 950 ° C
can withstand exposure to boilers or heat exchangers, while its
strength maintained at medium and high pressures ensures the
integrity of the steam containment vessel. The consistent
weldability of 321 simplifies the modification of turbine
pipelines.
The controlled manufacturing of 321 pipeline through solution
annealing ensures the formation of titanium carbide and eliminates
sensitization during long-term thermal cycling. These features
minimize the risk of stress corrosion cracking in the feedwater
system and turbine bypass pipelines, reducing unplanned shutdowns.
