SMLSCO Fitting Manufacturing Process
SMLSCO fitting tees are mainly manufactured using hydraulic bulging
technology. Firstly, cut qualified seamless steel pipe blanks and
place them into three-way molds. Subsequently, high-pressure liquid
is injected into the billet through a dedicated hydraulic press,
while axial pressure is applied from both ends to force the metal
to flow along the mold cavity, expanding out the branch pipe and
forming a seamless tee as a whole. After forming, the product needs
to undergo a series of processes such as heat treatment, surface
acid washing, and end groove processing to ensure that the final
performance meets the standards.
SMLSCO Fitting Advantages
SMLSCO is your trusted pipe fitting partner in the oil and gas
industry. Our pipe fittings factory has passed ISO, PED, and the
rigorous NORSOK M650 certification for the Norwegian petroleum
industry, demonstrating our ability to meet the highest industry
standards. We have a regular inventory of 150 tons of pipe fittings
to ensure delivery within two weeks for standard sizes. All pipe
fittings undergo 100% non-destructive testing and provide complete
traceable quality records to help you purchase with peace of mind
and win more market opportunities.
What is Equal Tee?
Equal Tee is a type of butt welded pipe fitting used to create a 90
° branch on a main pipeline. Its characteristic is that the three
ports of the main and branch pipes have exactly the same diameter,
allowing fluid to be diverted or merged without changing the pipe
diameter. This design ensures that branch pipelines and main
pipelines have the same flow capacity, making it one of the most
basic and commonly used connectors for building pipeline networks,
collecting or distributing materials.
Advantages of WP316L Material
WP316L is a widely used pipe material in the oil and gas industry.
The molybdenum element it contains gives it stronger resistance to
pitting and crevice corrosion than 304L when dealing with chloride
containing media such as seawater and formation water. At the same
time, the "L" level low-carbon characteristics ensure that the heat
affected zone can still maintain excellent corrosion resistance
after welding, which is crucial for ensuring the long-term
integrity of the welding connection point. Therefore, it provides a
reliable and economical material selection for oil and gas
pipelines in moderately corrosive environments.
Application in Oil&Gas Pipelines
In the oil and gas industry, WP316L equal diameter tees are key
nodes in the pipeline network system. They are widely used in
onshore gathering and transportation pipelines, processing plant
process pipelines, and public engineering systems on offshore
platforms, for connecting branch lines, setting instrument ports,
or collecting multiple incoming flows. Its reliable butt welding
connection form and material properties can ensure the safety and
sealing of the pipeline system during the transportation of crude
oil, natural gas, and process water containing corrosive media,
which is an important component for ensuring the safe production of
oil and gas.
