1. Physical properties
density
The density is usually 1.5-2.0g/cm³, which is much lower than steel
(7.8g/cm³) and aluminum alloy (2.7g/cm³). It is a lightweight
material and can significantly reduce structural weight load.
Appearance and texture
The surface can be smooth, matte or textured through process
processing, and the colors can be customized (such as white, gray,
color, etc.), both functional and decorative.
Light transmittance
Some models (such as using transparent resin matrix) have a certain
light transmittance and can be used in lighting scenarios (such as
greenhouses, lighting sheds), but the light transmittance is lower
than that of glass.
Heat resistance
Short-term use temperatures are generally -50℃ to 120℃ (depending
on the resin type), high temperature resistant models (such as
phenolic resin matrix) can withstand higher temperatures (above
200℃), but long-term high temperatures may lead to performance
degradation.
Water absorption
The water absorption rate is low (usually <0.5%) and it is not
easy to expand or deform due to water absorption in humid
environments.
2. Mechanical properties

Tensile strength: 300-500MPa (some high-performance models can be
close to steel), far exceeding wood and ordinary plastic.
Bending strength: 200-400MPa, impact resistance is better than
glass and ceramics, and is not prone to brittle cracking.
rigidity
The rigidity is moderate, and it can be lifted by adding
reinforcement ribs or adjusting the fiber laying method to avoid
excessive deformation when under stress.
toughness
It has a certain elasticity, is not easy to break when impacted by
external forces, and can absorb part of the impact energy (better
than brittle materials such as glass).
Wear resistance
The surface has medim wear resistance and can be enhanced by adding
wear-resistant fillers (such as quartz sand) or coating treatment,
suitable for general friction environments.
3. Chemical properties
Corrosion resistance
It has good resistance to corrosive media such as acids, alkalis,
salts, and organic solvents (depends on the type of resin):
Polyester resin matrix: resistant to general acid and alkali,
suitable for ordinary industrial environments.
Vinyl ester resin matrix: resistant to strong corrosion and is
suitable for harsh environments such as chemicals and marine.
(No electrochemical corrosion with metals, better than steel and
aluminum alloys)
Aging resistance
It has strong resistance to ultraviolet rays and atmospheric aging.
It is not easy to crack, fade or powder when exposed outdoors for a
long time. Its service life can reach 15-30 years (need to be
combined with anti-aging additives).
Weather resistance
It can adapt to different climatic conditions, and has stable
performance under alternating high and low temperatures, and is not
easily damaged by freeze-thaw cycles.
4. Electrical and electromagnetic properties
Insulation
It is non-conductive and has a high volume resistivity (usually
>10¹⁴Ω・cm), and is an excellent electrical insulating material,
suitable for distribution boxes, insulating brackets, etc.
Magnetic resistant
It is non-magnetic, will not be affected by magnetic fields, nor
will it interfere with the surrounding magnetic fields. It is
suitable for medical, precision instruments and other scenarios.
5. Processing and use properties
Forming flexibility
It can be made into different sizes (such as large-sized flat
plates) and shapes through hand pasting, molding, pultrusion and
other processes, supporting secondary processing of embedded
connectors, openings, etc.
Maintenance
The surface is not easy to accumulate dirt and is easy to clean; it
does not require anti-corrosion or rust removal treatment, and the
maintenance cost is low.
Environmental protection
No toxic substance release (food-grade resin models can contact
food), and can be recycled after being discarded (partial
processes).
