Description
316 stainless steel is also resistant to Marine and aggressive industrial atmosphere erosion. Heat resistance in discontinuous use below 1600 degrees and continuous use below 1700 degrees, Corrosion resistance is better than 304 stainless steel pipe, in the pulp and paper production process has good corrosion resistance.
316 stainless steel tubes have good oxidation resistance. There are different versions of the material with low carbon and high carbon content. The Tubes and UNS S316L00 Stainless Steel Strip Specification varies and the applications differ for the different versions of the material. The low carbon version,
316L Tubes are very good for welding applications as they have less carbide precipitation and less localized corrosion.
