What is a single pole double throw switch (SPDT)
SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) is a special switch structure.
Unlike normal SPST (Single Pole Single Throw) switches, SPDT
switches to control the operating states of two devices, which
operate in opposite directions. For example, if an SPDT switch is
connected to devise A and device B, device A will be on if the SPDT
switch is off, and device B is off; on the contrary, if the SPDT
switch is on, device A will be on, and device B will be on.
Therefore, we can know that no matter what state the SPDT switch is
in, only one device will be turned on.
Basic knowledge of SPDT switch structure:
The pole is the controller inside the switch. We usually use unipolar, bipolar, etc. to show how many independent circuits are controlled by a switch.
Throwing: Throwing means a circuit that will be controlled by a rod. We usually use single throw, double throw, etc. to show how much of a circuit one pole will control.
Open: If the rod is disconnected from a throw, the state of that throw is called open or open.
Closed: If the rod is attached to a throw, the state of that throw is called the closed state or off.
NO (normally open): If the throw circuit is disconnected by default (when the pole is not subjected to external force), the throw circuit is called a normally open circuit (NO circuit, N/O circuit), and the switch will be called normally open switch (NO switch, N/O switch).
NC (Normally Closed): If the throwing circuit is connected to the pole by default (when the pole is not subjected to external force), the throwing circuit is called a normally closed circuit (NC circuit, N/C circuit), and the switch will be called a normally closed circuit close switch (NC switch, N/C switch).
SPDT power relay function:
Its function is that it can control the output of the power supply in two different directions, that is to say, it can be used to control two devices, or it can also control the same device to switch the direction of operation.
SPDT Power Relay Description:
NB903 series power relay, large switching capacity, the maximum can
reach 40A, the contact form has NO., NC, and SPDT to option.2.5KV
or 4KV dielectric withstand voltage between coil and contacts, PCB
mounting and QT connection both work. Sealed or dust-proof,
TUV/CQC/UL is approved, also complies with RoHS-directive, widely
used in industry, agriculture, automotive...
SPDT Power Relay Features:
1. 2500VAC is available for dielectric to withstand voltage between
contact and coil.
2. Class F for coil insulation grade.
3. environmental-friendly.
4. 1 form C, SPST & SPDT.
5. TUV/CQC/UL certification.
6. Compliance with RoHS directive.
SPDT Power Relay Note:
1. Applying under a clean environment(excluding H 2 S, SO2, NO2,
dust contaminants), dust-proof type is recommended; Applying under
a polluted environment(containing H 2 S, SO2, NO2, dust
contaminants), sealed type is recommended, and please confirm
during practical application;
2. When installed on PCB, and entire washing is needed, please
notify us before ordering, so as to provide proper items;
3. If dielectric strength between coil contacts has to be over
2500VAC, please notify us before ordering, so as to provide proper
items;
4. Avoid applying under strong magnetic or shock extremes, or the
technical rating will change.
