LuminOx Flow-through optical oxygen sensors allow clean gas to Flow directly into the sensor and can be completely removed from the process environment.
Developed and manufactured by SST, LuminOx Flow-through optical oxygen sensors are part of the LuminOx family, a series of factory-calibrated oxygen sensors that measure ambient oxygen content using the principle of fluorescence quenching (also known as luminescence quenching).
The LuminOx Flow-through Optical Oxygen Sensor (LOX-02-F) is an extension of the LuminOx standard range of oxygen sensors with a faster response.
The straight-through housing is sealed on the base, allowing clean sample gas to flow directly into the sensor. The sensor can be completely removed from the process environment. The straight-through housing allows for better sample gas management and sensor location selection.
SST has the technology to produce a range of sensors based on non-expendable operating principles. This technology gives LuminOx sensors a longer service life than other competing technologies.
Every LuminOx oxygen sensor has an internal sensor for temperature and air pressure compensation, which means customers don't need to consider this when designing. It can also communicate directly with the customer's USART, so there is no need for signal conditioning circuits.
LuminOx is a completely solid-state sensor that contains no lead or liquid electrolytes and is 100 percent RoHS compliant. It has little cross-sensitivity and can be used in applications where the presence of specific gas mixtures makes it unreliable with other techniques.
The luminescence quenching principle measures the partial pressure of oxygen (ppO2). Internal pressure sensor measurements and ppO2 measurements allow oxygen concentration (O2%) values to be calculated. The USART output allows the sensor to transmit values of O2%, ppO2, atmospheric pressure, internal temperature, and sensor status.
