Yokohama fenders, also known as floating fenders, provides the supplementary protection to applications where fixed fenders such as cylindrical fenders and arch fenders may be unsuitable. With low reaction force at low deflection, yokohama fenders are the best choice for liquid cargo vessels and defense vessels with sensitive equipment.

Yokohama fender is made of the synthetic-cord-reinforced rubber sheet with compressed air inside, at an initial pressure of 50kpa or 80kpa, to enable it to float on the water and work as a shock absorber between two ships. As a leading anti-collision device, yokohama fenders have a long and successful history of protecting vessels in mooring operations. They are ideal for permanent and semi-permanent port applications, as well as for offshore ship-to-ship transfers. Our yokohama fenders can be provided with a diameter range from 500mm to 4500mm, a length range from 500mm to 12000mm, or special sizes according to customer requirements. These yokohama fenders are usually equipped with chain nets and tires or wire rope nets, end rings, traction rings and swivel joints, with suitable D-shaped shackles at both ends to increase service life.

Specifications

Yokohama fenders are composed of 4 main parts:

Outer rubber, reinforced tyre cord, inner rubber and end flanges.

Outer rubber layer features high tensile strength and wear resistance to protect reinforced tyre core and inner rubber form damages.

Reinforced tyre cord is fabricated from high strength cord materials to strength the pneumatic fender.

Inner layer is made of rubber to contain the air and avoid any leakage.

End flanges are the junction of rubber bladder and metallic parts containing air valve, which are used to fill and discharge gas. Meanwhile, the end flanges have hoisting rings to allow the fender to be lifted easily.

How does the yokohama fender work?

The yokohama fender uses compressed air as a buffer medium to absorb the impact energy of the ship when the two ships are close or the ship is close to the dock, so that the ship can avoid big losses due to collision. At the same time, the ship has more flexibility when docking.

Financial targets 2023

We have defined ambitious financial targets for our company. By 2023, Hongruntong Marine aims to grow sales to 600 million dollars, of which 300 million dollars will come from emerging markets. For adjusted earnings per preferred share (EPS), Hongruntong Marine targets a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10 percent between now and 2023. These financial targets are based on organic growth, including continuous portfolio optimization, that is, small and mid-sized acquisitions as well as divestment or discontinuation of nonstrategic activities. Potential major acquisitions or divestments are not built into our financial targets.
