Neoprene is an extremely versatile synthetic black rubber used for harsh environment applications due to its excellent resistance to oil and petroleum base solvents. Neoprene resists deprivation from sun, ozone and other weather elements. It also displays incredible resistance to damage caused by flexing and twisting. Another advantage of neoprene rubber is that it has very good resistance to dilute acids, alkalis, oils, greases and solvents. Neoprene has the ability to work well in temperatures ranging from -40°F to +230°F, intermittent to +250°F. Neoprene gaskets are used for equipment in all industries.



Neoprene Gasket (CR Rubber Gasket)


Neoprene gaskets have good ozone resistance, weather resistance and aging resistance. At the same time, it also has good flame retardancy, mechanical properties and cold resistance. The operating temperature range of chloroprene rubber is -40°C~+100°C (up to +120°C in a short time). Special types of chloroprene rubber can work as low as -55°C. Neoprene gaskets are often used in 1. Precision machinery, medical equipment, furniture, glass, electrical appliances and other transportation buffer materials; 2. Doors and windows, pipes, lamps, instrument sealing materials, sound insulation of mechanical equipment, residential sound insulation wall sealing materials ; 3. anti-shrinkage gasket materials; 4. laptop computers, electronics, electrical appliances and mechanical equipment waterproof and moisture-proof sealing materials.


Features and Benefits of Neoprene Gasket Products:

Die Cut Neoprene Gaskets


Hongum provides die cut neoprene rubber gaskets in a wide variety of grades, thicknesses and hardness. The standard thickness of neoprene rubber ranges from 1/64″ to 3/8″ thick. Die cut neoprene gaskets are typically black in color and their hardness (durometer) spans from 30 to 90 durometer, Shore A. Neoprene gaskets are available with or without pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing.

Adding Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) Backing

Most of the materials listed above are available with or without a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing, depending on the needs of the customers. While the addition of a PSA backing reduces the amount of time and labor required for the installation of a gasket, it is not recommended for the following applications:

• When using EMI shielding gaskets (the adhesive can reduce the effectiveness of the shielding material)

• When solvent resistance is critical (the adhesive is susceptible to degradation and damage from solvents)

• When there is little flat surface area (the adhesive cannot form an adequate adhesive bond without sufficient surface area)

• When the gasket will be subjected to regular stress (the adhesive may lose its integrity over time)
