Silicone:The term silicone covers a large group of materials in which vinyl-methyl-silicone (VMQ) is often the central ingredient. Silicone elastomers as a group have relatively low tensile strength, poor tear and wear resistance. However, they have many useful properties as well. Silicone has a good heat resistance, good cold flexibility, and good ozone and weather resistance as well as good insulating and physiologically neutral properties.

Buna:Buna-N O-Rings / Nitrile O-Rings / NBR: Buna-N O-Rings are the most widely used o-ring material in the world because of low cost, good mechanical performance with resistance to water, most basic oils, lubricants and some fuels, many pneumatic, hydraulic systems, propane, natural gas and the default choice for basic applications. Buna-N o-rings are not recommended for exposure to sunlight, UV light, ozone and general outdoor weathering or hash chemicals, acids, keytones and many others.

Lowest cost highest inventory general purpose commodity NBR compound. Compare to Parker N1470-70 and N0674-70 and Parco 4200-70 and 4900-70.

Applications: General purpose sealing, Air Tools, Hydraulic fluids, Petroleum based oils, fuels, L.P. gases, Cold Water, Silicone greases and oils, Di-ester base lubricants (MIL-L-7808), Ethylene glycol base fluids (Hydrolubes) and Hydraulic Fluidsand in static and dynamic applications.

Avoid: Brake fluids, ozone and UV light

EPDM:Ethylene-Propylene / EPDM O-Rings: Ethylene propylene rubber is an elastomer prepared from ethylene and propylene monomers (ethylene propylene copolymer). Our stock O-Ring compoundare made with an amount of a third (diene) monomer (ethylene propylene diene terpolymers). Ethylenepropylene-diene rubber (EPDM) produced using a third monomer and is particularly useful when sealing phosphate-ester hydraulic fluids and in brake systems that use fluids having a glycol base. EPDM has outstanding resistance to heat, water and steam, alkali, mild acidic and oxygenated solvents, ozone, and sunlight; but it is not recommended for gasoline, petroleum oil and grease, and hydrocarbon environments. This popular rubber compound is usually the first choice for low torque drive belt applications.

NBR is mainly used to manufacture oil resistant rubber products. Acrylonitrile content in nitrile butadiene rubber (%) has 42 ~ 46, 36 ~ 41, 31 ~ 35, 25 ~ 30, 18 ~ 24 and other five kinds. The more acrylonitrile content, the better oil resistance, but cold resistance is decreased. It can be used in 120℃ air or 150℃ oil for a long time. In addition, it also has good water resistance, air tightness and excellent bonding properties. It is widely used to produce all kinds of oil-resistant rubber products, a variety of oil-resistant gaskets, gaskets, bushing, flexible packaging, flexible hose, printing and dyeing roller, cable adhesive materials, etc. It has become an indispensable elastic material in automobile, aviation, petroleum, photocopying and other industries.

HNBR:Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber, also known as Highly Saturated Nitrile (HSN), is produced by hydrogenating acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR).This process improves the heat and ozone resistance, increases tensile strength, and provides superior abrasion resistance. The result is a rubber polymer that performs superior to standard NBR in most sealing applications. Taking advantage of its inherent properties, HNBR can be compounded to provide excellent service life in applications such as oilfield, automotive, and refrigerants. Dynamic applications requiring long service life or in abrasive environments are especially well suited to HNBR. FDA grades are available. Internally lubricated compounds are superior for extended wear dry air applications.

HNBR O-Rings are most commonly in Green or Black, are also avaialable in Yellow and red special compounds.
