The vulcanizer for conveyor belt manufacturing is a key equipment
in the production process of conveyor belts.
1. Working principle
Vulcanization process
The vulcanizer applies high temperature and high pressure to the
rubber layer of the conveyor belt and maintains it for a certain
period of time to make the rubber undergo vulcanization reaction.
Generally, the vulcanization temperature can be around 140-160℃,
and the pressure varies from 1 to 3MPa depending on the
specifications of the conveyor belt. During the vulcanization
process, the molecular chains of the rubber are cross-linked,
thereby improving the physical properties of the rubber, such as
strength, wear resistance, and aging resistance.
Heating method
Common methods include steam heating and electric heating.
Steam-heated vulcanizers need to be equipped with equipment such as
steam boilers to provide a stable steam source, with relatively low
cost, but limited thermal efficiency. Electric heating vulcanizers
use electric heating elements for heating, with faster heating
speed and more precise temperature control, but the operating cost
may be higher.
2. Structural composition
Frame
Provides a stable support structure for the entire vulcanizer,
generally welded with high-strength steel to ensure that it can
withstand high pressure without deformation during the
vulcanization process.
Hot plate
It is a component that directly contacts the conveyor belt and
transfers heat. The surface flatness of the hot plate is very high,
and the flatness error is usually within ±0.1mm to ensure the
uniformity of the thickness of the conveyor belt after
vulcanization.
Hydraulic system (if it is a hydraulic vulcanizer)
Responsible for providing the pressure required during the
vulcanization process. It consists of an oil pump, an oil cylinder,
a hydraulic valve, etc. Through the hydraulic system, the pressure
and the holding time can be accurately controlled.
3. Importance in conveyor belt manufacturing
Quality assurance
The quality of vulcanization directly determines the performance of
the conveyor belt. If the vulcanization is incomplete, the conveyor
belt may have problems such as insufficient strength and degumming,
which will affect its service life and safety.
Production efficiency improvement
Advanced vulcanizers can shorten the vulcanization time, improve
the production efficiency of the conveyor belt, and reduce
production costs.
