Product Description
Composition: 6063 aluminum is an alloy primarily composed of
aluminum, with silicon and magnesium as the main alloying elements.
It also contains small amounts of other elements such as copper and
chromium. The precise composition may vary slightly depending on
the specific manufacturing standards and requirements.
Strength: 6063 aluminum offers good strength properties, with a
tensile strength typically ranging from 145 to 186 MPa (21,000 to
27,000 psi). While it is not as strong as 6061 aluminum, 6063
aluminum is still suitable for many structural applications.
Corrosion Resistance: 6063 aluminum exhibits good resistance to
corrosion. It forms a protective oxide layer on the surface,
providing moderate resistance to atmospheric conditions. However,
it is not as corrosion resistant as some other aluminum alloys with
higher magnesium content.
Weldability: 6063 aluminum is highly weldable using various
techniques such as TIG (tungsten inert gas) or MIG (metal inert
gas) welding. It can be joined to other metals using different
welding processes, allowing for fabrication and assembly
flexibility.
