With a 0.787 V/mm (20 mV/mil) output, it offers a 12.7 mm (500 mil) linear range—ideal for measuring differential expansion (DE) in medium-to-large steam turbine generators, caused by differing expansion rates between rotor and stator. The DE measurement is achieved via two eddy current sensors, targeting flanges or inclined surfaces at a distance from the thrust bearing.
