As a self-contained controller, it executes application-specific control logic without hosting application I/O, relying instead on connected I/O networks to access all input data. Its hardware and software architecture ensures no single application input is lost during maintenance or repairs. Pre-loaded with dedicated software, it supports online control logic modifications and uses IEEE 1588 for clock synchronization via R, S, and T IONets, facilitating data transfer for process I/O, internal states, and synchronization—critical for dual and Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) systems.
