Description

Incremental encoders convert the displacement into periodic electrical signals, which are then converted into counting pulses. The number of pulses represents the displacement.

The rotating incremental encoder outputs the pulse when rotating, and knows its position through the counting device. When the encoder is not moving or the power is off, it remembers the position by relying on the internal memory of the counting device.
