The Texas Instruments (TI) BQ28Z610 device is a highly integrated, high-precision 1-2 series battery gauge and protection solution that enables autonomous charger control and battery equalization.BQ28Z610 devices broadcast charge current and voltage information via master mode I2C, enabling autonomous charge control that eliminates the software overhead normally incurred by a system host controller.The BQ28Z610 device provides a fully integrated pack-based solution with flash-programmable custom Reduced Instruction Set CPU (RISC), security, and authentication features for 1-2 tandem Li-Ion and Li-Polymer battery packs.The BQ28Z610 energy monitoring meter communicates via an I2C-compatible interface.It combines an ultra-low-power, high-speed TI BQBMP processor, high-precision analog measurement capabilities, integrated flash memory, a large number of peripheral and communication ports, N-channel FET drivers, and a SHA-1 certified conversion responder into a complete high-performance battery management solution.
