Inflatable PVC oil boom and silt curtain
FUNCTION
A mud filter can be a permeable or impermeable structure suspended
in the water column to control the migration of sediment from the
water. A mud screen, also called a turbidity screen, buoyancy
curtain, or mud screen, captures stirred-up sediment about a meter
or two above the water's surface. This allows suspended sediments
to settle and sink in the water column, which controls dispersion.
The silt curtain provides the environment and time for the
suspended sediments to settle to the bottom.
APPLICATIONS
Silt curtains are installed around construction works on or near
streams to control the migration of silt and suspended sediments
into the stream.Silt screens are designed to accommodate different
flow conditions to provide settling time and allow silt or loose
sediment to sink to the bottom.
The purpose of the silt curtain is to control the migration of silt
and suspended matter and to facilitate local deposition. It is not
intended to create a filter medium but to create a controlled
containment area for sedimentation.
There are many important factors to consider when designing and
installing a mud filter, including flow rate, water depth, project
conditions, and durability.
