DS3815PXCA PCB GE Mark IV gas and steam turbine control system
Product Description
The DS3815PXCA is a PCB manufactured by GE as a component for their
Mark IV gas and steam turbine control system. The MKIV is designed
around multiple microcomputers that monitor the protection
parameters and critical controls in the turbine system twenty-four
hours a day and uses a two-out-of-three voting system on all major
decisions. If one system issues a command but the other two do not,
the system will ignore that command; in this way, the MKIV
minimizes turbine outage rate and increases reliability.
The DS3815PXCA is built with three (TP) test points, a set of spare PTH and two PCB connectors, including one that is marked 218A4553-1 A/mp 533002-1 8705 and one marked 218A4637-P6 8920. The latter is a male right-angled connector.
The DS3815PXCA has five LEDs (light emitting diodes,) including one amber that is marked IMOK, and four red marked LOCAL, BUS, CHAN, and ACTIVE. The board has five jumper switches. J7 toggles between 5.5 MHz and 11 MHz and J8 is marked TEST.
The DS3815PXCA is built with five relay network arrays and over forty integrated circuits, including CHMOS single-chip 8-bit microcontrollers, octal buffers and line drivers, triple 3-input NAND gates, and hex inverting gates.
The DS3815PXCA is factory drilled and marked along the top edge with the letters A through J. Nylon extractors have been installed in two corners. These clips aid technicians by adding a lever point to use to pull a board out of a tight location, as well as adding a handle to the board. Technical support for the DS3815PXCA was originally provided by General Electric. This includes publications for the end-user like datasheets and manuals.

Product Description
The DS3800DBIB is a small printed circuit board (PCB) designed as
part of the Speedtronic (Mark IV) line manufactured by GE. The
Speedtronic system is designed to sequence turbine fuel and to
sequence turbine systems and their auxiliaries for startup. The
Mark IV system is designed with a distributed control system which
runs on an array of interconnected microprocessors. When one
section of this gridwork fails, turbines will continue to work
under the control of other parts of the system. In this way
downtime is limited. The DS3800DBIB is designed specifically as an
interface board.
The DS3800DBIB is a small daughterboard that works as a plug-in to another, larger PCB. It has been drilled out at the factory, one hole in each corner of the board. This board also has four connectors numbered 1 through 4. It has two small screw mounts covered by black tabs. The first mount is marked C101 and is positioned next to a ring marked TP1. The second is not marked and positioned next to a ring marked TP2. The DS3800DBIB has one capacitor rated 708A1, M/E 200V 1.0 +10%. It also has one blue potentiometer located on the edge of the board that is wired for variable resistance. There are ten resistors and six small capacitors marked 'cr' on the DS3800DBIB PCB
