The working process of the gear pump can be simply described as the following steps:

Suction: When the gear of the gear pump begins to rotate, the space in the pump chamber will gradually expand, forming a low-pressure area. This low pressure area draws fluid into the pump chamber from the inlet.

Discharge: With the rotation of the gear, the space in the pump chamber will gradually shrink, forming a high-pressure area. This high-pressure area pushes fluid out of the pump chamber and out through the outlet.

Seal: Gear pumps usually consist of two gears with a very small gap between them. This gap effectively seals the fluid and prevents leakage.

Cycle: The working process of the gear pump is continuous, and each gear will repeatedly inhale and discharge the fluid. This circulatory process continuously delivers fluid to where it is needed.
