Installing Air Springs in Volvo Trucks
Prepare the vehicle: Before working on the vehicle, set the parking brakes, place the transmission in neutral, and block the wheels to prevent unexpected vehicle movement .
Remove the old air springs:
Remove the retaining clip from the bottom stud of the air spring .
Unscrew the air spring from the bottom of the cab .
Install the new air springs:
Install the spring plate on top of the new air spring .
Screw the new air spring into the bottom of the cab .
For the VN780 vehicle, place the bottom stud through the cab
suspension crossmember and install a new retaining clip over the
stud .
Apply pipe sealer to the fitting and install the air fitting in the
bottom of the air spring .
Complete the installation:
Install the air line and start the truck to allow the air system to
refill .
Remove the bottle jack and the cab supports .
Check for air leaks .
