Q1: What is the sensing principle?
A1: The system is based on a non-contacting eddy-current proximity probe (3300 XL 8 mm probe) which monitors the gap between its tip and a conductive rotating shaft (or target). That displacement (static or dynamic) is converted into a voltage signal by the sensor.

Q2: What are typical applications?
A2: Used in rotating equipment (turbines, compressors, generators) for monitoring shaft vibration/displacement and position,

and in compliance with standards like API 670 (when the system is properly configured). The PROXPAC XL

version is especially useful where integrated housing/sensor is preferred

(reducing cables) and in harsh environments.

Q3: Can I replace an older transducer with this part?
A3:Possibly — if the older transducer is of compatible family (3300 XL 8 mm probe) and the mounting, penetration,

target geometry, and approvals match. However: you must ensure that the system (probe, housing,

sensor) remains within calibration, linear range and that the monitor input meets the

requirements. Mixing mismatched parts may

reduce performance.
