The 1761-NET-AIC is an Allen Bradley MicroLogix 1000 advanced interface controller. This module is classified under the MicroLogix 1000 series. It uses DH-485 communication to establish a communication link with the other network devices. The 1761-NET-AIC has been specially designed to fit different small logic controllers. It is also compatible with MicroLogix 1000, 1200, and 1,500 controllers that power the converter. The Advanced Interface Converter is also specially designed to offer a maximum point to point and RS-232 to half-duplex user mode ASCII isolator. The 1761-NET-AIC also supports a 24 Volt DC power supply that is connected to the external power terminal. The converter’s communication rate filter matches the network communication rate through the communication-rate selector switch. The 1761-NET-AIC is designed to provide compatibility with the SLC processors and it comes with the ability to interconnect SLC 500, 5/01, 5/02, and 5/03 processors.

The 1761-NET-AIC can be used as a point-to-point isolator or an RS-232 to an RS-485 isolator. The automatic transmitter’s signals also function to establish communication between the devices. The 1761-NET-AIC is compatible with Logix Controllers, Modems, and PC serial ports. The 1761-NET-AIC has the CE mark and it is approved for installation within the European Union; it can be mounted either vertically or horizontally. Communication to the module is supported through the use of the hardware handshaking or through automated transmission signals. The 1761-NET-AIC comes without a node address pre-associated with the network port, which allows the node address to be configured in the device that is connected through the port. The user should note that this module features a number of operational characteristics. These differ from those of the electromechanical equipment. Thus, the safety information should be referenced when installing the device.
