Heat Exchange 100% Solid Solution Superheater And Reheater For Power Plant Boiler
Description
Superheater
Fossil fuel power plants often have a superheater section in the
steam generating furnace. The steam passes through drying equipment
inside the steam drum on to the superheater, a set of tubes in the
furnace. Here the steam picks up more energy from hot flue gases
outside the tubing, and its temperature is now superheated above
the saturation temperature.
Reheater
Power plant furnaces may have a reheater section containing tubes
heated by hot flue gases outside the tubes. Exhaust steam from the
high-pressure turbine is passed through these heated tubes to
collect more energy before driving the intermediate and then
low-pressure turbines.
Function
Superheater is to increase the temperature of the steam above its saturation
point.
Reheater is basically a superheater that superheats steam exiting the
high-pressure stage of a turbine. The reheated steam is then sent
to the low-pressure stage of the turbine. By reheating steam
between high-pressure and low-pressure turbine it is possible to
increase the electrical efficiency of the power plant cycle beyond
40%.The reheat cycle is used in large power boilers since it is
feasible economically only in larger power plants.
Advantages & Disadvantages
Pendant-type 1.Firm structural support 1. Flow blockage by condensed steam 2. Needs slow restart to purge the water that accumulates in the bottom. supported from above |
Inverted-type 1.Proper drainage of the condensed steam 1. Lack the structural rigidity, especially in high speed gas flow Supported from below |
Horizontal -type 1. Proper drainage 2. Good structural rigidity. |
They do not view the flam directly so they are mainly from the
convective type Usually supported in the vertical gas ducts
parallel to the main furnace.
Advance technology
1 | HDB has extensive experience using their remaining useful life analysis system to predict the lifespan of tubes. |
2 | The system measures the oxide and wall thickness of the tube during an on-site non-destructive test and this is used to calculate the remaining useful life. |
3 | HDB developed the oxide measuring technology in 1991 and it is now used as the standard throughout the world. |
Details

2 | Design pattern | Vertical or horizontal layout. |
3 | Advantages | Beautiful appearance, size, accuracy, first-class bending and welding technology, first-class detection equipment. |
Product Function
1.The function of the superheater in the thermal power plant is to remove the last traces of moisture ( 1 to 2%) from the saturated steam coming out of boiler and to increase its temperature sufficiently above saturation temperature.
2.The super-heating heating raises overall overall cycle efficiency efficiency as well as avoids too much condensation in the last stages of the turbine which avoids the blade erosion.
3.The heat of combustion gases from furnace is utilized for the removal of moisture from steam and to superheat the steam.
4.Super-heaters usually have several tube circuits in parallel with one or more return bends, connected between headers.
