First, the process
Tap water → original water tank → original water pump → quartz sand
filter → activated carbon filter → precision
Filter → high pressure pump → pure water host → pure water tank →
pure water pump → water point
Second, the system introduction:
(1) Pretreatment system
The pretreatment function is to perform primary treatment on raw
water to remove suspended solids and colloids in water to ensure
stable operation of reverse osmosis equipment. The requirements for
reverse osmosis pretreatment are as follows:
Prevent the surface contamination of the membrane, that is, prevent
the suspended matter, microorganisms, colloids and the like from
adhering to the water flow passage of the membrane element on the
surface of the membrane.
Prevent fouling of the membrane surface. In the operation of the
reverse osmosis device, due to the concentration of the raw water,
some insoluble salts such as CaCO3, CaSO4, SrO4, CaF2, etc. are
deposited on the surface of the membrane, so that the formation of
these insoluble salts is prevented.
Ensure that the membrane is protected from mechanical and chemical
damage so that the membrane has good performance and a long enough
life.
Therefore, the pretreatment equipment adopts a process of raw
water→raw water pump→multi-media filtration→activated carbon
filtration→precision filtration.
Original water tank
Overcoming the instability of the water supply of the pipe network,
ensuring the stable and continuous water supply of the whole
system; at the same time, it also provides a guarantee for the
long-term performance of each equipment.
2. Original water pump
The raw water pump provides the necessary operating pressure for
the pretreatment system.
3 multi-media filter
Its function is to remove suspended solids and colloids in water
and reduce the turbidity of raw water. The filtering equipment
adopts multi-media filtration, and the filter medium is filled with
different density and different particle size filter media. The
density of the filter medium is from small to large and the
particle size is arranged from large to small, and the intercepting
capacity is gradually increased along the process, thereby
realizing the whole layer. The best match between the filter
interception capacity and the difficulty of removing residual
impurities. Multi-media filters have the following advantages over
ordinary single-layer filters:
Large interception capacity
Long filter period
Good effluent quality
Head loss growth is slow
The multi-media filter device is composed of a steel filter tank, a
water distribution device, a gas distribution device, an automatic
control valve, filter media of various particle sizes, related
accessories, and pipelines.
4. Activated carbon filter
Activated carbon has a large void ratio and specific surface area,
which makes it have a strong adsorption capacity, which can remove
free chlorine and organic matter in water to protect the subsequent
desalination facilities. In order to prevent the suspended matter
from blocking the void structure of the activated carbon, the
activated carbon is filtered and added after the multi-media
filtration. Since activated carbon filtration has the advantages of
simple equipment, low investment, convenient operation and easy
control, and so on, it is widely used in water treatment and
purification systems.
The need for free chlorine and organic removal:
Free chlorine can oxidize and destroy reverse osmosis membrane.
Reverse osmosis generally requires residual chlorine of <0.1ppm;
organic matter is not only a feed for microorganisms, but when it
is concentrated to a certain extent, organic membrane material can
be dissolved to deteriorate membrane performance.
There are many kinds of organic substances in water, and different
organic substances have different hazards to reverse osmosis
membranes. Therefore, in the design of reverse osmosis pretreatment
system, if the total organic carbon (TOC) content in water exceeds
2 mg/L, it is generally necessary to add activated carbon to
filter. For a purification system using tap water as a water
source, activated carbon adsorption is necessary because the tap
water is high in organic matter and contains a certain amount of
free chlorine.
The function of the activated carbon filter is as follows:
Adsorbs organic substances in water, reduces color and odor in
water, and prevents reverse osmosis membrane from being
contaminated by microorganisms;
Remove free chlorine from the water to prevent it from oxidizing
the reverse osmosis membrane.
The activated carbon filter device is composed of a steel filter
tank, a water distribution device, a gas distribution device, an
automatic control valve, a high-quality activated carbon and
related accessory pipelines.
5. Precision filter
Also known as a security filter, its role is to retain particles
larger than 5 microns in raw water to ensure that the reverse
osmosis membrane is not scratched by the suspension of large
particles.
Because the thickness of the reverse osmosis membrane is about 10
microns, the larger particles in the raw water are easily scratched
by the high pressure pump, and the desalted skin layer on the
surface of the reverse osmosis membrane is easily scratched and may
even penetrate the reverse osmosis membrane module. A 5 micron
precision filter is installed to ensure the safety of the reverse
osmosis membrane.
In order to prevent fine suspended matter from entering the reverse
osmosis system, causing fouling and surface scratching of the
reverse osmosis membrane, a 5 micron precision filter is installed
in front of the reverse osmosis unit.
(2) Reverse osmosis system

reverse osmosis membrane, and the salt removal rate of single
membrane is >99.2%. Achieve the dual effects of high water
quality and energy saving. In the system design of reverse osmosis,
our company has obtained the relevant design parameters of the
system through comprehensive analysis and computer simulation based
on the principle of high salt rejection, high water production, low
investment and low energy consumption.

The reverse osmosis unit is also equipped with a flow meter, a
conductivity meter, a pressure gauge and other indicating
instruments to monitor the operating conditions of the RO unit.
There are sufficient interfaces and valves on the water supply and
concentrated water inlet and outlet manifolds of each section of
the RO device so that the cleaning fluid inlet and outlet pipes are
connected.
