RO4830 High Frequency PCB
Introduction
Rogers' RO4830 high frequency laminates are thermoset materials
that provide a dependable and cost-effective substitute for
traditional PTFE based laminates.
RO4830 thermoset laminates are particularly suitable for millimeter
wave applications that require cost-efficiency, such as automotive
radar sensors operating in the 76-81 GHz frequency range. These
laminates can be manufactured using standard FR-4 processes and are
specifically designed for use as cap layers in FR-4 multi-layer
board designs commonly employed in PCB applications for 76-81 GHz
automotive radar sensors.
Features
RO4830 has a dielectric constant of 3.24, making it an excellent
choice for high-frequency applications.
It exhibits an impressive insertion loss of just 2.2 dB/in for 5mil
thickness and reduced to 1.8 dB/in for 9.4mil thickness at 77 GHz.
This low insertion loss helps to maintain signal integrity even at
high frequencies, resulting in reliable and accurate data
transmission.
The laminates hold a UL 94 V-0 flame retardant rating and feature
an optimized filler, resin, and glass composite system.
The laminates utilize reverse treated smooth LoPro® copper foil to
improves signal quality and contributes to more efficient and
consistent electrical performance.
PCB Capability
We offer a wide range of capabilities to meet your specific needs.
The PCBs can be designed as single-sided, double-sided,
multi-layer, or hybrid configurations.
When it comes to copper weight, we provide options for 1oz (35µm)
and 2oz (70µm).
There’re two dielectric thickness for RO4830 PCBs, i.e. 5mil
(0.127mm) and 9.4mil (0.239mm).
We can accommodate dimensions up to 400mm x 500mm and you have the
freedom to select from a variety of solder mask colors, including
green, black, blue, yellow, red, and more.
We also offer a diverse range of surface finish options to meet
your specific requirements, including immersion gold, HASL,
immersion silver, immersion tin, ENEPIG, OSP, bare copper, pure
gold etc.
