Laser Diode Lifetime Requirements:

• The operating lifetime of a laser diode is dependent on its operating temperature. A high quality laser diode operating at 20°C could have a lifetime in excess of 100,000 hours.
• The temperature measured is the case temperature of the laser diode package.
• Failure of a laser diode is usually defined as the point in time when the operating current required to maintain a specified output power is increased by some percentage (50%) of the initial current.

1. The laser light emitted by the laser diode may cause damage to human eyes. When the diode is working, it is strictly forbidden to look directly at its end face.

2. The device needs a suitable drive power supply, the instantaneous reverse current cannot exceed 20μA, and the reverse voltage cannot exceed 3V, otherwise the device will be damaged.

3. When the laser diode is connected to the power supply, the output voltage of the power supply should be zero; when the current is adjusted, it should be increased or decreased slowly to avoid damaging the device due to the impact current.

4. The device should be stored in a dry environment.
