The Hydropneumatic Fender is a special version of the Pneumatic
Fender developed for submarines. They are filled with water and air
then fitted with a counterweight that holds them upright against
submerged hulls, Hydropneumatic Fender are designed to be installed
vertically making them ideal for use with submarines or vessels
whose impact point is likely to be below the waterline such as
Catamarans, Semi-Submersible platforms and Drilling Rigs,
protecting submarines and other vessels that make contact below the
waterline.
Henger Hydropneumatic Fenders can be performance ‘tuned’ by varying
the initial pressure, water to air ratio and ballast weights to
suit the hull curvature and sensitivity of the latest submarines.
The Hydropneumatic fenders can be installed on most Quay structures
and come in a range of sizes to suit the application and a range of
vessels.
