HV-5/10/30/50 Vickers Hardness Tester is a high-tech product of opto-mechanical integration. The machine

tester.
The machine adopts computer software programming and optical
measurement system. Through soft key input, the measurement of
Vickers and Knoop hardness can be selected, the strength of the
measurement light source can be adjusted, the dwell time can be
selected, the test method and test force can be displayed on the
LCD screen, and the indentation pair can be measured through the
panel input. The length of the angle line and the hardness value
are directly read out on the screen, which simplifies the

1. How does a Vickers hardness tester work?
The Vickers Hardness (HV) is calculated by measuring the diagonal
lengths of an indent in the sample material left by introducing a
diamond pyramid indenter with a given load. The diagonals of the
indent are measured optically in order to determine the hardness,
using a table or formula.
2. How do you check Vickers hardness?
This test consists of applying a force (also called a “load”) on
the test material using a diamond indenter, to obtain an
indentation. The depth of indentation on the material gives the
value of hardness for the specimen. In general, the smaller the
indentation, the harder the object is.
3. What is its hardness on the Vivkers scale?
Vickers hardness numbers are reported as xxxHVyy, e.g. 440HV30, or
