1.TYPES OF INCONEL 625 REDUCERS

Reducers connect pipes of different sizes. They are available in eccentric or eccentric. One connecting end of the reducer is larger than the other. Pipe reducers often have male threads on one end and female threads on the other. Reducers come in a wide variety of materials, sizes and types, designed to suit specific applications.

Pipelines are not of uniform size and there is requirement of reducing or expanding the lines depending on process requirement or availability of material. Here comes the importance of a special pipe fitting called Reducers.

Reducers are most extensively used in piping industry to reduce or expand the straight part of run pipe. Basically, reducers are available in two styles:

Inconel 625 Concentric Reducers

In this type of reducers area reduction is concentric and center line of the pipe on bigger end and smaller end remains same. The reduction of the pipe size is achieved by decreasing the diameter of the fitting at a constant rate over a specified length, maintaining symmetry around the fitting. These styles are normally used for vertical lines.

Inconel 625 Eccentric Reducers

In this style of reducer there is an offset in between the center lines of bigger end and center line of smaller end. This offset or eccentricity will maintain a flat side either on top or on bottom side. The reduction of the pipe size is achieved by decreasing the diameter of the fitting at a constant rate over a specified length, maintaining one side of the fitting horizontally.

Almost complete freedom from chloride induced stress corrosion cracking.
High resistance to oxidation at elevated temperatures up to 1050C.
ASTM B366 Inconel 625 Reducer have good resistance to acids, such as nitric, phosphoric, sulfuric and hydrochloric, as well as to alkalis makes possible the construction of thin structural parts of high heat transfer.

Applications

Components where exposure to sea water and high mechanical stresses are required.
Oil and gas production where hydrogen sulfide and elementary sulfur exist at temperature in excess of 150C.
Components exposed to flue gas or in flue gas desulfurization plants.
Flare stacks on offshore oil platforms.
Hydrocarbon processing from tar-sand and oil-shale recovery projects.
