Duplex Steel F55 Ring Flange 78" Table E 150# as AWWA C207 for Waterworks Service

1. The standard ANSI/AWWA C207-01 Steel Pipe Flanges for Waterworks Services - covers slip-on flanges.

2. Product Line Description

AWWA History

The American Water Works Association was founded on March 29th 1881 by a group of men representing water utilities in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky and Tennessee. They worked together to identify uniform requirements for waterworks systems. The original ANSI/AWWA C207 steel pipe flange specification was officially adopted in 1955. The latest revision committee was led by the President of CAB Incorporated, Mike Vanderbosch, who has some of the industry's most extensive knowledge on AWWA flanges.

The AWWA C207 specification covers carbon steel ring type slip on flanges and blind flanges.

3. General Information about AWWA Flanges

AWWA flanges are commonly used in waterworks, waste water, slurry, plant piping or other light duty applications generally requiring pressures of less than 300 psi. Pressure ratings for AWWA flanges range from the Class B flange rated at 86 psi to Class F flanges, both rated at 300 psi. Class D flanges are by far the most commonly specified among AWWA flange users, and carry a pressure rating of 175 psi for sizes below 12", and 150 psi for sizes 12" and larger.

4. The use of AWWA ring type steel flange has long been accepted for steel and concrete piping systems, and more recently with polyethylene piping, as a backup ring. When used with low pressure piping, AWWA flanges can frequently offer the user a cost savings over common forged flanges (typically ANSI B16.5 hub type flanges) which are generally designed for higher pressure applications such as oil, steam, chemical, etc.

5. AWWA C207-13 Class D & E Steel Hub Flanges

Note: AWWA dropped hub flanges from the C207 standard in 2013. These dimensions are being provided for industry reference.

Overboring of Flanges: Hub flanges are intended to be used on pipes having an OD equal to the nominal pipe size as shown in the first column of this table. Ring flanges (Class B, D, E, and F) may be overbored or counterbored to accommodate pipes having larger OD's.

6. Zeron 100 / F55:

Zeron 100, UNS 32760, is commonly know as F55, which is a slight varient of Super Duplex 2507. This alloy is well suited or seawater applications.
