First, the definition of the gasket:
A gasket is a part that is padded between a connected piece and a
nut. Generally, it is a flat metal ring for protecting the surface
of the connected member from the nut and the pressure of the
dispersing nut against the connected member. The gasket is divided
into a spherical washer, a tapered washer, and a square washer for
the I-steel.
Second, the role of the gasket:
1. In the screw with nut, the function of the gasket is to increase
the contact area, reduce the pressure, and protect the parts and
screws.
2. A gasket is a material made of paper, rubber sheet or copper
sheet placed between two planes to reinforce the seal, and a
sealing member disposed between the static sealing surfaces to
prevent fluid leakage.
3. The gasket is a mechanical seal between two objects, usually
