Using Nova galvanized & Galfan-coated woven gabion basket is a
perfect solution for floods, landslides, tsunamis, and coastal
erosion. It has been used in many major river training projects
around the world. Unlike rigid (e.g., welded wire mesh mattresses)
or impermeable revetments (concrete or pumped concrete mattresses),
the mattresses are made of flexible double twisted wire mesh and
can accommodate differential settlements without sustaining damage.
Nova metal gabion baskets and gabion boxes are made of high-quality
steel wire that has been heavily galvanized to provide long-term
corrosion protection. When the units are to be used in more
aggressive environments or with a longer design life, Galfan-coated
iron wire or an additional protective polymeric coating is applied.
