LED area lights are state-of-the-art area and road lighting systems with cast aluminum construction that offers strength and durability, while their modern styling provides a look of contemporary sophistication. Available with gooseneck post pendant mounting and pole/wall side entry mounting, the distinctive models offer an excellent choice in any outdoor commercial and residential applications. Asymmetrical type I, II, III, and symmetrical lens optics in combination with a choice of lumen packages allow the JD L Series be scaled to perfection for effective building perimeter lighting, pedestrian area lighting, street and walkway lighting, and open-space lighting applications.

The area luminaire has a round, shallow domed housing which is constructed from high pressure die cast aluminum, delivering architectural strength, dimensional stability as well as superior heat management to the luminaire. The hinged top cover (top part of the housing) is mounted with all the functional components and serves as the heat sink to keep the critical components cool without relying on air convection. The domed top with a dirt-repellent surface prevents debris accumulation and foliage buildup. The bottom cover is lensed by a gasketed, heat and impact resistant tempered glass lens. A one-piece, weather and ageing resistant silicone rubber gasket seals the door frame to the housing for IP66 level ingress protection. A pressure stabilizing vent breather equalizes the internal/external air pressure to prevent seal fatigue and failure. A tightly controlled multi-stage cleaning and chromating process creates a corrosion resistant substrate on the exposed aluminum surface. Durable TGIC thermoset powder coat finish is electrostatically applied to the pre-treated aluminum surface for superior salt and humidity resistance as well as maximum retention of gloss and luster.
