The main raw material of the fluted / corrugated polypropylene sheets is the PP (polypropylene) resin whose density is about 0.9 g/cm³ , which is one of the lightest plastic material. The sheets' structure consists of two smooth surface and the vertical ribs, which is similar to the paper cardboard, except the flutes are rectangular as the pictures below.


This hollow construction plus the light PP material provides a very important feature of light-weight. And the polypropylene is tough, compression resistant, and impact-proof material. Furthermore, unlike the paper cardboard which loses its rigidity when absorbing the water, the corrugated polythene sheets are water and moist repellant, which lets the fluted polypropylene sheets be the ideal material for use in the wet environment.
