The APS-C Sensor Swab is a specialized cleaning tool designed to safely remove dust, smudges, and other debris from the sensor of an APS-C format digital camera.
Steps to Clean Your APS-C Sensor:
Power On & Lock Up the Mirror
Turn on your camera and enable Manual Cleaning Mode (found in the
settings menu). This locks the mirror up and opens the shutter,
exposing the sensor.
Blow Away Loose Dust
Use a rocket blower (do not use canned air) to remove any loose
particles. Hold the camera facing downward so dust falls out.
Apply Cleaning Fluid to the Swab
Use 1-2 drops of sensor cleaning fluid on the swab’s tip (do not
oversaturate).
Swipe the Sensor Gently
Hold the swab like a pen and swipe horizontally across the sensor
in one smooth motion.
Flip the swab and swipe again in the opposite direction (do not
reuse the same side).
Inspect & Repeat if Needed
Check the sensor with a bright light or loupe. If streaks/dust
remain, use a fresh swab (never reuse swabs).
