Introduction

IML – in-mold labeling (IML) is a pre-decorating technique used for blow molded bottles as well as injection molded and thermoformed containers or other plastic objects.

In-mold labeling (IML) is very different from other labeling techniques because in-mold labels (IML) are ejected into the mold before the molds are closed; they are embedded into the wall of the container during the molding process.

IML – in-mold labeling (IML) film is a layer of paper or plastic that is used the in-mold labeling process. The in-mold labeling IML film is placed inside the mold as the container itself is being formed.
