Description
Grade 410 stainless steels are general-purpose martensitic
stainless steels containing 11.5% chromium, which provide good
corrosion resistance properties. However, the corrosion resistance
of grade 410 steels can be further enhanced by a series of
processes such as hardening, tempering and polishing. Quenching and
tempering can harden grade 410 steels. They are generally used for
applications involving mild corrosion, heat resistance and high
strength.
Machining
Grade 410 steels can be easily machined in highly tempered or
annealed conditions. However, it is hard to machine grade 410
steels if they are hardened above 30HRC. Free machining grade 416
is the best alternative.

kitchen uten sils etc. |
NO.4 | Polished with abrasive belt of grit #150#180, have better
brightness with discontinuous coarse stria, but thinner than NO.3,
are used as bathtud buildinginner and external ornaments electrical
appliances, kitchen utensils and food processing equipment etc. |
HL | Polished with abrasive belt of grit #150-320 on the No.4 finish and
has continuous streaks, mainly used as building
ornaments,elevators, door of building, frontal plate etc. |
BA | Cold rolled, bright an nealed and skin passed, the prod uct has ex

Applications
This grade is used for applications requiring good mechanical properties and involving corrosive conditions that are not too severe, such as valve parts, cutlery, food industry machine parts, screws, bolts, pump rods and pistons, etc. In the annealed condition, it may be drawn or formed. In the aircraft industry, Type 410 is used for parts such as compressor shrouds, where oxidation resistance is required up to 1000°F. Useful at high temperatures only when stresses are low.
