What were the first uses of airbags in the launching of ships?
The history of marine airbag ship launching dates back to 1981. Xiao Qinghe ship repair and building shipyard, located in Jinan city of Shangdong Province, launched a 60 DWT tank barge with airbag suspension on January 20, 1981. Seven airbags were deployed in that project. One was 2 meters in diameter and 6 meters long and used for elevating. The remaining six airbags were 0.8 meters x 6 meters long and acted as the rollers. The first intention of that trial launch was to develop a prompt, less land form limited ship launching method for warfare purposes.

They look very similar to Yokohama Fenders, how do they differ?
The main use of Yokohama fenders and Florescence marine airbags are definitely different. It is well known that Yokohoma fenders offer an effective fender system providing a soft and stable berthing condition to ships. Florescence marine airbags are widely used for ship launching, landing, heavy transport and air lifting. Due to the special use, structures of Florescence marine airbags are optimized for safety and built for heavy duty use. The surface layers are enhanced for anti-abrasion and are pierce resistant. Even if they are somewhat wounded, Florescence marine airbags can still work safely until repaired. The length of airbags are usually more than 10 meters and two cone-shaped ends make them look like huge sausages. Also, Florescence marine airbags never use tires and shackles.

The structure of Florescence marine airbag
Please the picture 1 of Florescence inflatable rubber airbag structure . It is composed by airbag body and terminal iron part. The airbag body is composed by natural rubber and strength fiber material through vulcanization processing; The terminal iron part is made of cast iron, it is combined closely with the bag body; One end is for pulling when move the airbag, and the other end is for charging and discharging the air. All the fittings in picture 2 and 3 will be supplied with airbags for free.

The airbag is to be constructed of an outer rubber layer, one or more synthetic-tyre-cord layers, and an inner rubber layer. The arrangement of synthetic-tyre-cord reinforcement layers is shown in the picture below, all materials shall be vulcanized firmly.
